Hello Everyone
After a nice drop of rain on Monday and Tuesday the greens are looking lush!
This week at Taylor Square and Eveleigh markets there will be the rare citrus, Bergamot. These are the colour of a lemon but are shaped like an orange. They are great for flavourings and cocktails! Here’s a picture, first with out the flash on the camera and the second with the flash. I think they really look a bit of a cross between the two!
Regarding other citrus, this is the last two weeks for blood oranges so don’t miss out. There are the usual tangellos, mandarins, Meyer lemons, navels & sevilles.
There’s silver beet, chard, celery, broad beans, snow peas, beetroot and baby leeks. Tuscan, Scotch and Russian kale on sale too.
Come early for the broccolini as there’s very little and it will sell out early.
Of course a wide range of salad and the famous Horta mix will be there. The picture above next to the celery is Marsh lettuce
Mushrooms this week will be at both markets.
Healthy eating!
Nancy
