[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]After the longest, driest above temperature number of weeks ON RECORD, we finally had nearly 2 inches (50mm) over Tuesday and Weds. A bit hard to work in as we had all forgotten how quickly you get wet when working hard, but we enjoyed it as the soil and the environment needed rain badly.

So a few changes of dry clothes later and we are picking today, ready to serve you at Taylor Sq and Carriageworks on Saturday.

Plenty of salad and nice rocket[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”2964″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”2977″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]These orange beauties are the first of the astringent persimmons… the chef’s choice as, when you let them go fully soft they are literally “the nectar of the gods” use them as a syrup over ice cream or mixed into cream or ice cream or even soft sweet cheese as a dessert.

We will also have gorgeous sweet corn, tomatoes (Roma and beefsteak for slicing), red capsicum, zucchini good size and some baby ones too![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]And don’t forget our unusual veggies; purple king beans, red ribbed chicory, mizuna bunches, purslane (high in omega 3), mustards and endive. We have also just dug some sweet potatoes so come and try but be early as our regulars always snap up the unusual goodies

eat well,

all the best
