Are we nearly there yet?

Yes we are!!! (Those with small children & a car will understand!)[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”2841,2843,2842″ img_size=”medium”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Despite quite amazing lightning storms last night all is well and the produce is lush and green and growing like the clappers! It will sell well so have a serious think about what you are going to need over the holiday period.  Last Carriage Works market will be the twilight one, Wednesday 23rd December from 4.00pm – 9.00pm. The last Saturday one will be 19th. Taylor Square market lost out last week as the truck broke down on the freeway at 5 in the morning ad was there for 3 hours before being towed back up to Mangrove Mountain for repair.

However, this Saturday we will be at Taylor Square with the hire truck & loads of delicious salad, vegies and all the usual produce. Be there to get it![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”2863,2862,2857,2849,2848,2847,2846,2850″ img_size=”medium”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]This week the seedlings arrived from Patio Plants on Wednesday. We returned all their empty trays out to their truck and collected the new ones. Patio Plants are all set up for growing thousands of seedlings and they grow ours organically. The boys are unloading the trays onto frames so they can keep them watered as they gradually plant them in the next couple of days.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”2852,2854″ img_size=”medium”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

This week you can see the sulphate & potash (essential mineral supplements) sprinkled along above the seeds for the new rows of corn along with a bit of extra compost that Michael is getting with the tractor bucket! This makes sure we have a continuous supply of corn over the next few months, from December to May.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”2839″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Corn is looking stupendous. These rows will be ready from early January. Our first corn before Christmas will be coming from Ed who planted earlier. Fifty percent of the family are corn mad! They would run back to the kitchen from the paddock to cook it! Luscious green leaves are my thing!

See you at the market! Happy shopping!
