Hello Everyone

Remember this photo of Julie Goodwin (masterchef) & Paul MacDonald(chef) at our farm in mid July? Last Sunday Julie  & Paul produced an amazing meal -  20 mile lunch – at Julie’s Place! It was an experiment in sourcing all food from growers within 20 miles, their passion. A terrific success. Check it out on Julie’s Place Facebook page. Michael was unable to go as he was working on the farm, tirelessly as usual, so I got to go with my good friend & great cook, Sue Wiles, from England!

Everyone went up the road to Ed’s place this week (he’s in his late eighties) to weed, plant beetroot & leeks, which grow really well there. look carefully and you will see the shelling peas which hopefully will be ready to eat next week and definitely the week after. yum!

When you come to either Taylor Square or Carriage Works Markets on Saturday or Mangrove Mountain Country Market on Sunday at Peats Ridge Public School, Peats Ridge School, there will be all the usual range of fresh produce. The weather is expected to have warmed up, particularly by Sunday so have a day out in a beautiful country setting. Just whizz up the freeway, turn off at Calga onto the Peats Ridge Road, go north 10 minutes and enjoy!

Have a happy, healthy week.
